MNRE clarified about the ongoing Tenders under current mechanism of RTS Phase-II

MNRE clarifies that the existing mechanism of installation of rooftop solar in the residential sector through Discom will continue and the new mechanism announced vide press release 21.01.2022 will be in addition to the existing mechanism. The detailed procedure for implementation of new simplified mechanism will be issued after getting approval from Competent Authority.

In a letter to MNRE REAR suggested that since the detailed guidelines need to be framed for New Mechanism, which may take a lot of time, so it will not be right to stop the already issued or ongoing tenders by various states which are in line with the SBD of MNRE issued in December 2021. We suggest that these schemes should be allowed to continue as it is and in the meantime guidelines should be prepared for the new mechanism. Also we request MNRE to kindly clarify on this matter so that confusion is removed from the minds of the stakeholders and unnecessary hiatus in the installation of rooftop project can be avoided.
